The Chicago Bears officially waived DB Joshua Simmons on Wednesday.
Simmons, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Limestone last year. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Bears.
Chicago waived Simmons coming out of the preseason with an injury designation and he later reverted to their injured reserve list.
During his five-year college career, Simmons recorded 224 tackles, 15 interceptions, 50 pass defenses, four forced fumbles and three recoveries over the course of 44 games.
