The Chicago Bears officially waived DE Andrew Trumbetti on Wednesday.
Trumbetti, 22, wound up signing on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of out Notre Dame back in May of last year. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract but was waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.
After clearing waivers, Trumbetti reverted to the Bears’ injured reserve list.
During his four-year college career at Notre Dame, Trumbetti recorded 90 tackles, 12.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown and a pass defense over the course of 43 games.
