Bears Worked Out Three RBs Including Jahad Thomas

Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports that the Bears brought in free agent RB Jahad Thomas for a workout on Monday.

  • Brad Biggs adds that the Bears also worked out RBs James Summers and Stanley Williams.

Thomas, 21, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Temple back in May. He stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement.

The Cowboys waived Thomas with an injury designation a few weeks ago and he later reverted to their injured reserve list. Dallas elected to cut him loose from injured reserve last month and he caught on with the Jets soon after.

Unfortunately, Thomas was among the Jets’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason. Thomas later had a brief stint on their practice squad before being cut loose a few weeks ago.

During his four-year college career, Thomas rushed for 2,599 yards on 563 carries (4.6 YPC) to go along with 69 receptions for 998 yards receiving and 38 total touchdowns over the course of 46 games.
