According to Aaron Wilson, the Bears are bringing in four free agents for workouts this week including QB Jake Rudock.
The full list of players includes:
- DT Tyler Clark
- QB Jake Rudock
- QB Kyle Sloter
- WR Jester Weah
Rudock, 26, is a former sixth-round pick by the Lions back in 2016. Detroit elected to waive him as they trimmed down to the 53-man limit at the start of the 2016 season and they signed him to their practice squad after clearing waivers.
Rudock managed to make the 53-man roster in 2017 and returned to the Lions on an exclusive rights free agent the following year. From there, he joined the Dolphins on a futures contract last year and was eventually signed to their practice squad at the start of the season.
Miami brought Rudock back on a futures contract this past January and he was waived coming out of training camp and re-signed to their practice squad but was cut loose last month.
In 2017, Rudock appeared in three games for the Lions and completed three of five pass attempts for 24 yards and an interception.
Sloter, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Colorado back in 2017. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Broncos cut him loose.
Sloter later signed on with the Vikings’ practice squad and eventually joined the Cardinals before the Lions signed him to their active roster last year. He was cut loose this past March.
During his college career at Southern Mississippi and Northern Colorado, Sloter appeared in 34 games and completed 198 passes on 320 attempts (61.9 percent) for 2,656 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
