According toย Adam Hoge of CBS Chicago, Bears WRย Eric Weems has acceptedย a pay cut to be back in Chicago next year.
The last we heard regarding Weems was that he hadย declined to take a pay cut was expected to be released.
Hoge mentions thatย Weemsโ base salary has been reduced fromย $1 million toย $730,000 for the 2014 season. Chicago frees upย $270,000 in available cap space and could gain anotherย $830,000 if they were to release him at some point later in the offseason.
Weems, 28, signed a three-year, $4.2 million contract that included a $1.5 million signing bonus with the Bears back in 2012.
Last year, Weems appeared in all 16 games for the Bears, but contributed just one reception forย 8 yards. However,ย Pro Football Focusย did have him rated as an above average special teams player.
