Bengals Signing WR Levonte Whitfield, Waive WR Monty Madaris

According to Jim Owczarski, the Bengals are signing WR Levonte Whitfield and waived WR Monty Madaris in a corresponding roster move.

Whitfield, 23, originally signed on with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Florida State back in May. He only lasted a few days in Chicago before being waived.

During his three-year college career at Florida State, Whitfield recorded 102 receptions for 1,338 yards receiving (13.1 YPC) and seven touchdowns.

Madaris, 23, signed on with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State. Cincinnati waived him with a failed physical designation one day after placing him on the physically unable to perform list.

During his three-year college career at Michigan State, Madaris recorded 31 receptions for 413 yards receiving (13.3 yPC) and one touchdown.
