Bills Officially Hire Panthers Assistant Heath Farwell As STs Coordinator

Update:

The Buffalo Bills announced Friday that they’ve officially hired Panthers assistant special teams coach Heath Farwell as their new special teams coordinator.

Joe Person reports that the Buffalo Bills have hired Panthers assistant special teams coach Heath Farwell as their new special teams coordinator.

There are well documented ties between the Panthers and Bills, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see Buffalo add another assistant from Carolina.

Farwell, 37, played 10 years in the NFL for the Vikings and Seahawks before retiring after the 2014 season.

The Seahawks hired Farwell as an assistant special teams coach in 2016 and he spent two years in Seattle before departing for the same position with the Panthers last year.

According to FootballOutsiders, the Bills’ special teams unit ranked No. 32 in the NFL.
