Bills Place WR Jordan Matthews & DE Shaq Lawson On IR, Promote Two

The Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that they’ve placed WR Jordan Matthews and DE Shaq Lawson on injured reserve and promoted WR Brandon Reilly and DE Cap Capi to their active roster.

  • The  Bills also signed S Dean Marlowe and P Cory Carter to their practice squad.

The Bills’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. OT De’Ondre Wesley
  2. WR Malachi Dupre
  3. C Adam Redmond
  4. S L.J. McCray
  5. DT Marquavius Lewis
  6. TE Jason Croom
  7. RB Marcus Murphy
  8. CB Lorenzo Doss
  9. WR Brandon Reilly
  10. DE Cap Capi

Matthews, 25, is a former second-round pick of the Eagles back in 2014. He’s currently entering the third year of his four-year, $4,949,269 contract and stands to make a base salary of $1,094,901 for the 2017 season.

The Eagles traded Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick to the Bills in return for CB Ronald Darby.

In 2017, Matthews has appeared in 10 games and caught 25 passes for 282 yards receiving and one touchdown for the Bills.

Lawson, 23, is a former first-round pick of the Bills back in 2016. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $10.27 million contract that included $9.82 million guaranteed and he stands to make base salaries of$1.38 million and $1.85 million over the next two years of the agreement.

The contract also includes a fifth-year option for the Bills to decide on in 2019.

In 2017, Lawson appeared in 11 games for the Bills and recorded 33 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble and two pass defenses.
