Bills Signed WR Corey Washington To Practice Squad, Cut WR Matt Hazel

The Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that they’ve signed WR Corey Washington to their practice squad and waived WR Matt Hazel from the unit.

The Bills’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. WR Dezmin Lewis
  2. DB Marcus Roberson
  3. DT Deandre Coleman
  4. OT William Poehls
  5. WR Corey Washington
  6. LB Max Valles
  7. LB Bryson Albright
  8. WR Ed Eagan
  9. G Terran Vaughn
  10. DB Damian Parms (Injured)

Washington actually worked out for the Bills last week, so he was clearly on their radar as a possible addition.

Washington, 24, originally signed on with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Newberry back in May of 2014. He lasted just a few weeks with the Cardinals before he was waived and later claimed by the Giants.

After a year in New York, Washington had brief stints with the Redskins and Lions before signing on with the Falcons back in July. Unfortunately, he was among the Falcons’ final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

In 2014, Washington appeared in 14 games for the Giants and caught five passes for 52 yards receiving and a touchdown.
