Jaguars Sign C Brandon Linder To Record Five-Year, $51.7M Extension

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that the Jaguars have signed C Brandon Linder to a record five-year extension worth $51.7 million.

According to Rapoport, the contract includes $24 million guaranteed.

There had been talk that Linder was likely a priority for the Jaguars before the start of the upcoming season and it appears as though they managed to hammer out this deal and prevent him from testing the open market in 2018.

Linder, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2014. He was entering the final year of his four-year, $2.771 million rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $702,000 for the 2017 season.

In 2016, Linder appeared in 14 games for the Jaguars and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 5 center out of 78 70 qualifying players.
