Broncos Promote S Dymonte Thomas To Active Roster

The DenverĀ Broncos have promoted S Dymonte Thomas to the active roster on Thursday, according to Nicki Jhabvala.

Thomas takes the place of Broncos S Justin Simmons, who was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury this week.

Thomas, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Broncos cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.

During his college career at Michigan, Thomas recorded 122 tackles, one interception, a forced fumble, a recovery and 16 pass defenses over the course of four seasons and 36 games.
