Stewart, 30, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of back in 2010. He spent four years with the Rams before joining the Ravens for the 2014 season.
The Broncos would later signed Stewart to a contract in 2015 and he agree to a four-year contract extension worth $28 million in 2016. He was set to make base salaries of $4.75 million over the final two years of the agreement.
According to OverTheCap.com, releasing will free up $3,568,750 of available cap space while creating $2.8 million in dead money.
In 2018, Stewart appeared in 14 games for the Broncos and recorded 60 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 77 safety out of 93 qualifying players.
