ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos have released veteran DTÂ Kevin Vickerson as they work to get down to 53 players.
- Ian Rapoport mentions that Denver “loves” DT Marvin Austin, who has put together a great training camp and preseason.
Vickerson, 31, signed a two-year, $5 million contract that included a $1 million signing bonus with the Broncos last year. He was set to make $1.25 million for the 2014 season.
Last year, he appeared in 11 games and recorded 22 tackles and a sack. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 56 defensive tackle out of 69 qualifying players last season.
