Tom Kensler of The Denver Post anticipates that Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman will replaced injured back Willis McGahee as the team’s starter against the Chiefs on Sunday.
“Hillman (5-10, 190) has been listed as the top backup to McGahee and likely will get the first call Sunday in the Broncos’ 11 a.m. game at Kansas City,” writes Kensler. “The rookie from San Diego State, a third-round pick in the 2012 draft, might be the Broncos’ quickest and fastest running back. He ranks second on the team in rushing (188 yards on 49 carries) and has yet to lose a fumble as a pro.”
Head coach John Fox said they will likely use multiple running backs to replace McGahee. Hillman has the most play making ability which is why it’s believed he will start Sunday. Expect Hillman to get close to 15 touches Sunday with Lance Ball getting some work in on third-downs.
