Broncos Sign S Shamarko Thomas & LB A.J. Johnson

Adam Schefter reports that the Broncos are signing veteran S Shamarko Thomas to a contract on Monday.

  • Mike Klis adds that the Broncos have also signed LB A.J. Johnson.

This comes shortly after the news that Broncos S Jamal Carter is out for the season with a torn hamstring.

Thomas, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,613,152 rookie contract with the Steelers and before signing on with the Jets last summer.

Unfortunately, New York elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason and he eventually caught on with the Bills.

Thomas signed on with the Colts a month ago but was released following their first preseason game.

In 2017, Thomas appeared in 12 games and recorded nine tackles and no interceptions.
