Chris Mortensen reports that the Browns are hiring former Redskins GMย Scot McCloughan as a personnel consultant for the 2018 NFL draft.
Mortensen says thatย McCloughanย participated in full scouting sessions with the Browns on Saturday.
McCloughan has obvious ties to Browns GM John Dorsey from their time together with the Packers.
McCloughan, 49, began working for the Packers as a regional scout back in 1994. He spent six years in Green Bay before joining the Seahawks as their director of college scouting.
The 49ers later hired McCloughan as their GM in 2008, but he would return to Seattle a few years later.
McCloughan got another shot at being a GM when the Redskins hired him in 2015. Unfortunately, Washington fired McCloughan after two years.
During his time with the Redskins, McCloughan’s team produced a record of 17-14-1, which includes one playoff appearance.
