Browns Place S Tashaun Gipson On I.R. & Promote OLB Scott Solomon

The Cleveland Browns announced Saturday that they have placed S Tashaun Gipson on season-ending injured reserve and signed OLB Scott Soloman from their practice squad.

Gipson was expected to miss 6-8 weeks after he suffered an MCL sprain close to a month ago, so this was a possibility all along.

Gipson, 24, is in the final year of his three-year, $1.44 million rookie contract and is set to be a restricted free agent next season. He has recorded 52 tackles, six interceptions, a forced fumble, eight pass defenses and even scored a touchdown over the course of 11 games.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 6 safety in the league out of 86 qualifying players.
