Browns HC Kevin Stefanski says RB Nick Chubb will go on injured reserve with a “several week-injury” to his MCL, per Scott Petrak.
Stefanski says Chubb is expected to be able to return this year, however. Adam Schefter reports Chubb is expected to miss six weeks with his injury. Stefanski wouldn’t be surprised if Chubb can beat that timeline, though, per Nate Ulrich.
The Browns will roll with RBs Kareem Hunt and D’Ernest Johnson while Chubb is out.
Chubb, 24, was drafted by the Browns in the second round out of Georgia in 2018. He’s in the third year of a four-year, $7,383,094 contract that included a $3,449,524 signing bonus.
In 2020, Chubb has appeared in four games for the Browns and rushed 57 times for 335 yards and four touchdowns. He’s also added three receptions for 17 yards.
