Browns Sign DB Derron Smith Off Bengals’ Practice Squad, Waive/Injured DB Ibraheim Campbell

The Cleveland Browns announced Thursday that they’ve signed DB Derron Smith off of the Bengals’ practice squad and waived DB Ibraheim Campbell with an injury designation.

Should Campbell pass through waivers unclaimed, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list on Saturday.

Smith, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bengals back in 2015. Cincinnati elected to cut him loose last week and he later signed on to their practice squad a few days ago.

In 2017, Smith has appeared in three games and recorded one tackle for the Bengals.

Campbell, 25, is a former fourth-round pick of the Browns back in 2015. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2,792,008 contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the final two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Campbell has appeared in eight games and recorded 16 tackles, one fumble recovery and a pass defense for the Browns.
