Browns Sign Fourth-Round DB Derrick Kindred

The Cleveland Browns announced Friday that they’ve signed fourth-round DB Derrick Kindred to a four-year contract.

The Browns still have several draft picks to get under contract including: Carl Nassib, Shon Coleman, Cody Kessler, Joe Schobert, Ricardo Louis, and Seth DeValve.

Kindred, 22, was selected with the No. 129 overall pick out of TCU by the Browns a few weeks ago. Kindred gives them a young safety to develop in the coming years, and possibly compete for a starting job this summer now that the Browns have moved on from Donte Whitner.

According to OverTheCap.com, Kindred receives a four-year contract worth $2,839,356 to go along with a signing bonus of $499,356.

During his four-year career at TCU, Kindred recorded 229 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, eight interceptions with one being returned for a touchdown, three forced fumbles, three recoveries and 15 passes defensed.
