According to Adam Schefter, the Browns are signing G Zion Johnson to a three-year deal worth $49.5 million.

The deal also includes $32.4 million in guarantees. It’s a hefty payday but maybe a tick less than some reports about what the market for Johnson would be in free agency.
For the Browns, they get a starting-caliber interior lineman as they continue what is on track to be a total renovation of their front five.
Johnson, 26, was a three-year starter at Boston College. He was a first-team All-ACC selection as a senior. The Chargers used the No. 17 overall pick on him in the 2022 draft.
He signed a four-year, $14,746,678 contract that included a $7,904,856 signing bonus. The Chargers declined Johnson’s fifth-year option in 2025, setting him up to be an unrestricted free agent in 2026.
In 2025, Johnson appeared in all 17 games for the Chargers and made 16 starts. Pro Football Focus had him graded as the No. 54 guard out of 79 qualifying players.
