Browns Sign QB Pat Devlin, Waive OL Ryan Seymour

Update:

The Cleveland Browns announced the signing of QB Pat Devlin on Thursday, as well as the release of OL Ryan Seymour.

Seymour, 25, is a former seventh round pick of the Seahawks back in 2013. He was unable to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of his first training camp, but later signed to their practice squad.

The 49ers would later sign him to their active roster. However, his stay in San Francisco was very brief, as he would later be waived and claimed by the Browns.

Cleveland wound up re-signing him to an exclusive rights contract several months ago.

Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports that the Browns will sign former Dolphin Pat Devlin, pending a physical.

The Browns brought Devlin in for a workout today, as Johnny Manziel is dealing with an elbow issue.

Devlin, 27, signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Delaware back in 2011. He served as the Dolphins’ third-string quarterback last season, backing up Ryan Tannehill and Matt Moore.

The Vikings added Devlin to their practice squad last year before later signing him to a future/reserve contract. However, he was released back in Aparil.

Devlin has yet to appear in an NFL game.
