Browns Signing RB Carlos Hyde To Three-Year, $15M Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Browns are expected to sign former 49ers RB Carlos Hyde to a three-year contract worth $15 million.

Rapoport adds that this agreement will pay Hyde $6 million in year one.

It’s interesting to see the Browns sign Hyde to a market-value deal, considering that there’s been a lot of buzz about them possibly drafting Penn State RB Saquon Barkley.

Hyde, 27, is a former second-round pick of the 49ers back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $3.681 million contract and made a base salary of $822,047 for the 2017 season.

Hyde was testing the free agent market for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Hyde appeared in all 16 games for the 49ers and rushed for 938 yards on 240 carries (3.9 YPC) to go along with 59 receptions for 350 yards receiving and eight total touchdowns.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
