Peter Schrager is reporting that the Browns are set to agree to terms with former Packers WRย Jeff Janis on Friday.
Janis has obvious ties to the Browns, who have brought in a number of former Packers’ executives this offseason.
Janis was looking to find an opportunity to play more receiver after he was largely relegated to playing special teams in Green Bay, so it will be interesting to see what he can do for the Browns.
Janis, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Packers back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,271,392 contract with the Packers and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.
In 2017, Janis appeared in all 16 games for the Packers as a core special teams player and caught two passes for 12 yards and no touchdowns. He also totaled 43 kick return yards.
