Buccaneers Place S Chris Conte On Injured Reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that they’ve placed safety Chris Conte on injured reserve with a knee injury and released CB Jeff Richards from their practice squad.

Conte, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Bears back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract with the Bears before signing a one-year deal with the Buccaneers in 2015.

The Buccaneers brought him back last year on a two-year, $5 million contract last year. Tampa Bay elected to pick up his option this past March.

In 2018, Conte appeared in three games for the Buccaneers and recorded 14 tackles and no interceptions or pass defenses.
