Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson mentioned that he has been dealing with lingering nerve damage that he sustained in both arms during Week 4’s game. Johnson added that this is the reason why he’s had problems catching the ball over the past five games, per Paula Pasche.

Johnson took a hit that caused the nerve damage as well a concussion. He wouldn’t confirm if he’s still experiencing lingering symptoms from the concussion, only stating thatย “it’s a long season.” After a performance last week of nearly 200 yards receiving, the nerve damage issue may be residing or Johnson could have made some adjustments to play with the injury. The Lions are going to need Johnson at full strength for the remainder of the season if they want to make a run at the playoffs.
