Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com writes that the Cardinals could be getting closer to reaching a deal with DE Calais Campbell but Urban admits that it may be just his optimism.
“I know they’ve been talking,” Urban writes, “I haven’t heard anyone be pessimistic and Whisenhunt himself said he didn’t want to talk about it Monday because he didn’t want to jinx anything — and could that be a hint, since you don’t worry about jinxing something that won’t happen, right?”
Campbell figures to be in line for a franchise tag if the two sides are unable to reach an agreement early into the offseason.
