Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Cardinals are releasing WR Michael Crabtree on Monday.
The Cardinals have already confirmed the news:
We have released WR Michael Crabtree.
— Arizona Cardinals (@AZCardinals) September 23, 2019
Crabtree wound up being a healthy scratch for the Cardinals’ Week 1 game against the Lions, but was available the past two weeks.
Crabtree, 32, is a former first-round pick of the 49ers back in 2009. He spent six years in San Francisco before signing on with the Raiders in 2015.
Crabtree was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $34 million contract when the Raiders released him last year. The Ravens would later sign Crabtree to a three-year, $21 million contract, only to cut him loose after one year.
From there, Crabtree signed a one-year contract worth up to $5.5 million with the Cardinals last month.
In 2019, Crabtree has appeared in two games and caught four passes for 22 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
