Cardinals Sign S D.J. Swearinger To Practice Squad

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Cardinals signed S D.J. Swearinger to their practice squad on Tuesday.

Swearinger, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Texans out of South Carolina back in 2013.

The Texans waived Swearinger shortly after the draft, but he was later claimed by the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay cut him loose a few weeks ago.

The Packers recently brought Swearinger in for a workout, but didn’t sign him to a contract.

This season, Swearinger has appeared in seven games for the Buccaneers and recorded 12 tackles and a fumble recovery.
