According to Aaron Wilson, the Cardinals are bringing in four free agents for workouts this week.
The full list of players includes:
- LB Stephone Anthony
- LB Corey Nelson
- DB Donald Rutledge
- LB Terrence Smith
Nelson, 28, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,268,600 contract and made a base salary of $690,000 for the 2017 season before signing a one-year, $1.6 million contract with the Eagles.
Unfortunately, the Eagles elected to release Nelson in a move that cleared $1 million of available cap space. After a brief stint with the Falcons, Nelson signed a futures contract with the Buccaneers but was among their final roster cuts.
Nelson returned to the Broncos at the start of 2019, but his season was cut short when he tore his bicep during Week 8.
The Bills brought him in for a workout in late October but he left Buffalo without a contract.
In 2019, Nelson appeared in seven games for the Broncos, recording ten tackles and no sacks.
