Chargers Place S Matt Daniels On Injured Reserve

The San Diego Chargers announced Tuesday that they’ve placed S Matt Daniels on the injured reserve list with a leg injury.

Daniels, 26, originally signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Duke back in 2012. He lasted just over a year in St. Louis before he was waived and later signed to the Jaguars’ practice squad.

Jacksonville waived him an injury settlement coming out of the preseason last year. The Chargers elected sign him to a contract in November.

Daniels stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 before testing the open market as a restricted free agent in 2017.

In 2015, Daniels was active for just one game and did not record a single statistic for the Chargers.
