Chargers S Adrian Phillips Out Indefinitely Following Broken Forearm

According to Adam Schefter, Chargers S Adrian Phillips is expected to be out indefinitely following a broken forearm suffered during the Chargers’ loss to the Lions Sunday.

Phillips was already filling in for injured Chargers S Derwin James, so this injury further depletes Los Angeles’ secondary depth.

Phillips, 27, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in May of 2014. He’s been on and off of the Chargers’ practice squad several times since entering the league.

The Chargers re-signed Phillips to a one-year contract each of the past two seasons.

In 2018, Phillips appeared in all 16 games for Los Angeles and recorded 88 total tackles, one interception, one forced fumble, and nine pass defenses. Pro Football Focus graded him as the No. 59 overall safety out of 93 qualifiers.
