The Los Angeles Chargers officially signed G Spencer Drango to a futures contract for the 2019 season on Thursday.
As of now, the Chargers have signed nine players to futures deals including:
- DE Patrick Afriyie
- LB Tre’Von Johnson
- QB Cardale Jones
- P Ty Long
- WR Justice Liggins
- TE Vince Mayle
- WR Andre Patton
- DB Arrion Springs
- G Spencer Drango
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Drango, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Browns back in 2016. He spent just over two years in Cleveland before he was waived at the start of the 2018 season.
Drango later signed on to the Chargers’ practice squad where he remained for the remainder of the season.
In 2017, Drango appeared in all 16 games for the Browns.
