Chargers Sign K Mike Badgley With Caleb Sturgis Dealing With Strained Quad

Adam Schefter reports that the Chargers are signing K Mike Badgley to a contract on Thursday while Caleb Sturgis nursing a strained quad.

According to Schefter, the Chargers have no plans to release Sturgis and instead plan to keep two kickers on their active roster for the time being.

Badgley, 23, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract but was unfortunately cut loose coming out of the preseason.

During his college career at Miami, Badgley converted 77 of 97 field goal attempts (79.4 percent) to go along with 172 of 179 extra point tries over the course of four seasons and 49 games.
