The Chargers have signed sixth-round S Alohi Gilman to his rookie contract, according to Gilman’s agent.

Gilman is the first member of Los Angeles’ rookie class to sign their rookie deal.

Gilman, 22, began his college career at Navy before transferring to Notre Dame following his freshman year. At one point last summer, he was on the radar of NFL scouts as possibly being among the top safety prospects in the country, but ended up falling to the Chargers in the sixth round.
He’s projected to sign a four-year deal worth $3,483,205 with a signing bonus of $188,205.
During his college career at Notre Dame, Gilman recorded 244 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, 12 pass defenses, three fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, and scored one defensive touchdown over the course of 40 games.
