Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding passed the team’s physical and will be placed on waivers, per Michael Gehlken of the Union-Tribune San Diego.
“Kaeding was moved to injured reserve last week with a minor-injury designation, requiring his release upon a determined return to health,” Gehlken wrote.
This marks the end of Kaeding’s nine year run with the Chargers. Kaeding has coverted 87 percent of his field goal attempts during the regular-season, making him the most accurate regular-season kicker in NFL history with a minimum of a 100 attempts. However, Kaeding seemed to struggle under pressure, making eight-of-15 attempts in the playoffs. The two time Pro Bowler shouldn’t have any problems landing with another team.
