Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com reports that the Chiefs have franchised WR Dwayne Bowe just before today’s deadline.
Bowe will get a one-year guaranteed contract of $9.4 million for the upcoming season but it will be interesting to see if the team tries to lock him up to a long-term contract in the coming months.
This move basically insinuates that CB Brandon Carr will be allowed to leave during free agency despite the fact that the Chiefs have maintained that they would like to retain him.
