Chiefs Sign Veteran DL Kevin Vickerson

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Chiefs have signed veteran DL Kevin Vickerson to a one-year contract.

It appeared as though Vickerson had signed with the Cincinnati Bengals after he recently posted a picture on his Instagram account of Bengals’ t-shirt with the description: “God is great .Bengals …on to the next.”

However, that wasn’t the case and there has been no buzz regarding the idea in recent days.

The Chiefs just lost DE Mike DeVito for the season with a torn Achilles’ tendon, so they could really use some defensive line depth.

Vickerson, 31, was one of the more notable cuts from the Broncos as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players on Saturday.

Last year, Vickerson appeared in 11 games for the Broncos and recorded 22 tackles, one sack, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 56 defensive tackle out of 69 qualifying players last season.
