Terez A. Paylor reports that the Chiefs are signing RB DeAndre Washington to a one-year contract.

This is an interesting signing for the Chiefs, who have had some success buying low on running backs in recent years. Washington very well could get an opportunity to compete for the Chiefs’ No. 2 running back job this summer.

Washington, 27, is a former fifth-round pick by the Raiders in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. He finished his four-year rookie contract and was testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2019, Washington appeared in all 16 games for the Raiders and recorded 108 rushing attempts for 387 yards (3.6 YPC) and three touchdowns, to go along with 36 receptions for 292 yards receiving (8.1 YPC).

We had him included in our Top 100 Available 2020 Free Agents list.
