Colorado WR Laviska Shenault Out 4-6 Weeks Following Core Muscle Surgery

Adam Schefter reports that Colorado WR Laviska Shenault Jr. has been dealing with a core muscle injury and inflammation of his pubic bone, and is scheduled to undergo surgery that will require a 4-6 week recovery time.

Schefter notes that Shenault was still able to run a 40-yard dash of 4.58 at the NFL Combine despite his injury. He notably did not take his second attempt at running.

Two weeks ago, Schefter reported that Shenault was not expected to require surgery on his groin issue that lingered through the 2019 season, so he clearly was not improving from his injury. (NFLTR)

Shenault, 21, is considered to be one of the top receivers and a first-round prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft.

During his three-year college career at Colorado, Shenault has appeared in 27 games and caught 149 passes for 1,943 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns to go along with 280 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.

As a returner, Shenault has totaled 54 kick return yards and 55 punt return yards and a touchdown for Colorado.
