Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealerย writes thatย the Browns should keep QBย Colt McCoyย as backup for rookie Brandonย Weeden unless a team offers a third round pick.
McCoy, once considered the Browns franchise quarterback, looked more relax and familiar with the offense than last season on Friday’s game against the Lions.
McCoy was 6-of-8 for 88 yards while also rushing forย 20 yards.ย The former 2010 third- round pick, showed composure against pressure and looked more secure in the pocket.
The Browns have made Brandon Weeden there starter and must now decide whether to keep McCoy or trade him and keepย Seneca Wallace as their backup QB.
