Tony Grossi ofย ESPN Clevelandย writes that he was informed that Colt McCoy‘s fate was sealed when his father criticized the organization for its handling of Colt’s concussion last year.
“I was told at the time that Brad McCoyโs comments meant the end of McCoy in Cleveland, but I didnโt believe it then,” writes Grossi.
This idea has been floated for a number of months now, but this is the first report confirming the previous speculation. The Browns were actively shopping in around the league before and during the draft, but wound up finding very little interest in acquiring. All signs point to newly draft QB Brandon Weeden taking over as the team’s starter this season, which leaves McCoy as a backup at best.
