Colts Activate RB Robert Turbin, Waive DEs Tarell Basham & Al-Quadin Muhammad

The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday that they’ve activated RB Robert Turbin from the exempt list and promoted CB Lenzy Pipkins to their active roster.

The Colts also waived defensive ends Tarell Basham and Al-Quadin Muhammad.

Turbin, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2012. He was waived by the Seahawks during the 2015 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Browns.

Turbin’s stay in Cleveland was short-lived, as the Browns wound up waiving him after just a few months. The Cowboys later signed him to a contract and gave him the opportunity to finish out the year in Dallas.

The Colts signed Turbin in March of last year and brought him back on a two-year, $2.7 million contract. He landed on the team’s injured reserve in October of last year after sustaining a dislocated elbow.

In 2017, Turbin appeared in six games and rushed for 53 yards on 23 carries (2.3 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 56 yards receiving and one touchdown.

Basham, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $3.35 million contract and set to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Basham appeared in 15 games for the Colts and recorded seven tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble. However, he’s been active for just one game in 2018 and has yet to record a statistic.
