Colts Activate Rookie CB D’Joun Smith From Short-Term I.R.

The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday that they’ve activated CB D’Joun Smith from the short-term injured reserve list.

Smith, 22, was taken in the third round of this year’s NFL draft and signed a four-year, $3.314 million contract that included an $808,846 signing bonus.

Indianapolis placed Smith knee on short-term I.R. with a knee injury just a few weeks into the regular season. He returned to practice a few weeks ago, and the Colts could really use some depth at cornerback, so I’m sure they’re glad to have him back.

During the preseason, Smith recorded four tackles over the course of four games.
