Colts Claim RB D’Onta Foreman Off Waivers From Texans, Waive RB Keith Ford

Aaron Wilson reports that the Colts have claimed RB D’Onta Foreman off of waivers from the Texans on Monday.

To clear space on the roster, the team waived RB Keith Ford.

The Texans made the decision to cut Foreman loose on Sunday and HC Bill O’Brien explained today that it was simply a move they felt was best for the team.

Foreman suffered an Achilles tear during his rookie season. Houston placed him on the PUP list to open the 2018 season and they eventually activated him in December.

Foreman, 23, is a former third-round pick of the Texans back in 2017. He signed a four-year contract worth $3,159,484 that includes a signing bonus of $759,484 and stands to make a base salary of $678,500 for the 2019 season.

In 2017, Foreman rushed for 327 yards on 78 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with six receptions for 83 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of 10 games. His 2017 season came to an end with him being placed on injured reserve.
