Colts Place RB Ahmad Bradshaw On I.R. & Sign TE Weslye Saunders

The Indianapolis Colts announced that they have placed RB Ahmad Bradshaw on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday.

  • The Colts also signed tight end Weslye Saunders to their active roster and waived OLB Victor Butler.
  • Indy signed RB Michael Hill to the practice squad and released WR Eric Thomas from the practice squad.

Bradshaw unfortunately suffered a fractured fibula during Sunday night’s loss to the Patriots, so it’s not surprising that they elected to shut him down for the season given the severity of the injury.

Bradshaw, 28, has dealt with numerous injuries over the course of his career, which was the reason he signed a one-year, $855,000 contract with the Colts back in March.

This season, Bradshaw has ran for 425 yards on 90 carries (4.7 YPC) and caught 38 passes for 300 yards receiving to go along with eight total touchdowns.

Saunders, 25, joined the Colts back in 2012 when he signed on with them as a free agent. He hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since last season when he caught four passes for 46 yards over the course of six games.

Butler, 27, signed a contract with the Colts close to a month ago. He has appeared in two games this season and recorded just two tackles.
