Colts Promote LB Ahmad Thomas To Active Roster

The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday that they’ve promoted LB Ahmad Thomas to their active roster.

The Colts are without LB Skai Moore for Sunday’s game due to a neck injury, so they could use some temporary depth at the position.

Thomas, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma back in 2017. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Raiders cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Packers later signed Thomas to their practice squad in November of last year and brought him back on a futures contract. After being among the Packers’ roster cuts at the start of the 2018 season, Thomas signed on to the Colts’ practice squad.

During his college career at Oklahoma, Thomas recorded 222 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four interceptions, seven pass defenses and a fumble recovery over the course of 42 games.
