Colts Sign CB Tremon Smith, Waive DE Kendall Coleman

Damon Talbot of NFL Draft Diamonds reports that the Colts are expected to sign CB Tremon Smith.

Indianapolis made the move official on Saturday and announced it was waiving DE Kendall Coleman to make room on the roster.

The Colts brought Smith in for a workout on Thursday in a group with five other players, so they were clearly impressed enough to sign him.

Smith, 24, is a former sixth-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2018. He signed a four-year, $2.6 million contract with Kansas City but was placed on waivers and later claimed by the Packers.

After being waived by the Packers he was signed to the Eagles’ practice squad. Philadelphia brought him back on a futures contract before recently waiving him.

In 2019, Smith has appeared in eight games for the Chiefs and Packers and recorded two tackles to go along with 303 kick return yards.
