Colts Sign CFL OLB Alex Bazzie To Futures Deal

The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday that they’ve signed OLB Alex Bazzie to a reserve/future contract.

Bazzie becomes the 10th player to sign a futures deal with the Colts since their season ended. The full list includes:

  1. OLB Lavar Edwards (NFLTR)
  2. WR Marcus Leak
  3. S Stefan McClure
  4. CB Tevin Mitchel
  5. QB Stephen Morris
  6. G Adam Redmond
  7. WR Tevaun Smith
  8. CB Larry Scott
  9. K Devon Bell
  10. OLB Alex Bazzie

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Bazzie, 26, has spent the past three years playing for the BC Lions of the CFL after he went undrafted out of Marshall. In total, Bazzie has appeared in 50 games and totaled 83 tackles, 29.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles for the Lions.

During his college career at Marshall, Bazzie appeared in 45 games recorded 109 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.
