According to Howard Balzer, the Indianapolis Colts brought in free agent DE Howard Jones for a workout on Wednesday. Balzer adds that the Colts also LB Josh Keyes for a visit.
This is the fourth tryout for Jones in the past few weeks after he met with the Bears, Titans and Jets.
Jones, 27, originally signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Shepherd back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in Pittsburgh before he was waived at the start of the 2015 season and later signed to the Buccaneers’ practice squad.
Tampa Bay declined to tender him a contract an exclusive rights offer this past February which allowed him to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent.
In 2016, Jones appeared in eight games for the Buccaneers and recorded three tackles and fumble a recovery.
